Cori Gauff became the first US Open finalist


American tennis player Cori Gauff reached the final of the US Open. At the semi-final stage, she beat the representative of the Czech Republic, Karolina Muchova, with a score of 6:4, 7:5.

The duration of the meeting was 1 hour 57 minutes. During this time, Gauff made one ace, made two double faults and converted five of ten break points. Muchova has two missed serves, two double faults and three converted break points out of four.

In the final of the tournament, Gauff will meet the winner of the pair Madison Keys (USA) – Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus).

The US Open runs from August 28 to September 10. The total prize fund of the tournament is $65 million. The current winner of the tournament is the representative of Poland Iga Swiatek, who beat Ons Jabeur in the final match last year. Swiatek previously completed her participation in the tournament, losing to Jelena Ostapenko.
