US Open published a commentary on the incident with the suspension of the match Gauff – Muchova


The press service of the US Open released a statement announcing the incident with the suspension of the match between American Cori Gauff and Czech tennis player Karolina Muchova.

“The game was stopped due to a protest from four spectators. Three of the four protesters were escorted out of the stadium without further incident. The last protester pressed his bare feet to the floor of the seating bowl. Due to the nature of this event, NYPD and medical personnel were needed to remove this individual safely from the stadium. Four protesters were taken into custody by the NYPD. A total of 49 minutes passed before play resumed,” the official statement said.
