Wimbledon organizers have issued a statement on the possible exclusion of Russian tennis players

The All-English Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), which is responsible for organizing Wimbledon, has made a statement on the situation with Russian and Belarusian tennis players who may not be admitted to the tournament. Earlier it was reported that Wimbledon could remove the second racket of the world, Daniel Medvedev and other Russians, even without an order from the British Ministry of Sports.

“We plan to announce the decision before the application deadline in mid-May. We have taken note of the British Government’s instructions regarding the presence of Russian and Belarusian athletes in neutral status at sporting events in the country. We continue to negotiate with the British government, the Laun Tennis Association and the international governing bodies of tennis, “said in a statement AELTC, quoted by the BBC.

Wimbledon 2022 will be held from June 27 to July 10
