19-year-old Gauff defended the title at the tournament in Oakland, defeating Ukrainian Svitolina

The champion of the US Open – 2023, the third racket of the world, 19-year-old American tennis player Cory Gauff defended the title at the tournament of the WTA-250 category in Auckland (New Zealand).

In the final match, Gauff (1) defeated the bronze medalist of the 2020 Olympics, the 25th ranked player in the world, representative of Ukraine Elina Svitolina (2) with a score of 6:7 (4:7), 6:3, 6:3. The meeting of tennis players lasted 2 hours and 32 minutes. Gauff served three times, committed seven double faults and converted 6 break points out of 13. Svitolina had no aces, three double faults and three converted break points out of six earned.

Gauff will receive more than $35,000 for winning the Oakland final. For the young American, this is already the seventh title at the WTA level along with the triumph at the US Open.
