The second match of the Orange Group ended at the Final WTA Tournament — 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), in which the third-ranked American tennis player Cory Gauff and her compatriot Jessica Pegula, ranked sixth in the world, met. Gauff won with a score of 6:3, 6:2.
The match lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes. Gauff completed two serves in flight, made as many double faults and realized five break points out of eight earned. Pegula has one double fault and two broken points out of three. She did not make a single ace.
In the first match of the Orange group, the second-ranked Polish tennis player Iga Schwiontek defeated the 13th-ranked Barbora Krejcikova from the Czech Republic in three sets – 4:6, 7:5, 6:2.
