Arina Sobolenko was defeated by Kreychikova in Dubai, taking the 1st set with a score of 6:0

The winner of the Australian Open – 2023, the second racket of the world, Belarusian Arina Sobolenko failed to reach the semi-finals of the WTA-1000 category tournament in Dubai (UAE).

In the quarterfinal match, Sobolenko (2) lost to the 2021 Roland Garros champion, Czech Barbora Kreychikova with a score of 6:0, 6:7 (2:6), 1:6, although she led 3:1 in the second set. The meeting lasted 1 hour 58 minutes. Sobolenko filed right through 10 times, made five double faults and converted four out of six break points. Kreychikova has three aces, five double faults and three out of six realized break points.

Krejcikova’s opponent in the semi-finals will be the third racket of the world, American Jessica Pegula (3), who without a game passed another Czech – Karolina Muchova in the semi-finals.

The total prize fund of the tournament in Dubai was $2,788,468, and the winner will receive $454,500.
