The match of the first round of the Australian Open ended, in which Daria Kasatkina and Varvara Gracheva played. Varvara won with a score of 2:0 and advanced to the next round of the competition.
The first set ended with the victory of Gracheva with a score of 6:1. Varvara won the second game with the same score. The duration of the match was 54 minutes. Gracheva made two double faults and converted five out of nine break points. Kasatkina has three double faults and one realized break point out of four.
In the second round, Gracheva will meet with the Italian Lucrezia Stefanini, who beat Tatiana Maria from Germany with a score of 2: 1.
The Australian Open takes place in Melbourne from 16 to 29 January. Last year, Rafael Nadal won the men’s tournament, defeating Daniil Medvedev, and Ashleigh Barty won the women’s tournament.
