Rafael Nadal hinted that he played his last match in Mexico

The 22-time winner of the “Grand Slam” tournament, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, said that he may have played in Mexico for the last time. The tennis player played a match with the Norwegian Casper Ruud in Mexico City as part of a tour of South America.

“Most likely, this is the last time I play in Mexico, Acapulco-2023 is not on my calendar, and 2024 is still very far away. It’s time to enjoy this moment to the fullest and play in an incredible environment, with great fans and in a country where I always felt love for myself,” Eurosport quoted Nadal as saying.

Earlier, at the ATP Finals tournament, Casper Ruud reached the final, where he lost to Novak Djokovic of Serbia. Rafael Nadal was unable to get out of the group, losing to Taylor Fritz and Felix Auger-Alassime, while beating Ruud.
