Sinner: I enjoyed the match. Djokovic deserved to win

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner commented on the defeat in the final of the ATP Final Championship from 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.

“He played very well today, especially deep in the court. But I think that at some points the reaction let me down. It seemed to me that I sagged a little physically. When you’re down against the best player in the world, he takes full advantage of it. I tried to stay in the game and serve well. I made a few mistakes. And perhaps I lost my concentration a little, because, for example, when the score was 40:40, 3:4, I made a mistake on a light forehand. He served very well for a set and a half. It was hard to play. But on the other hand, I enjoyed the match. Of course, this is the finale. This is something different. He deserved today’s victory. Played better in important moments, that’s all,” Sinner said at the post-match press conference.
