Swiatek commented on reaching 100 weeks at the top of the WTA rankings

Four-time Grand Slam champion 22-year-old Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek reacted to reaching 100 weeks at the top of the WTA rankings.

“This is a challenging, exciting, sometimes frustrating and stressful, but exciting and unforgettable adventure.

Thank you all for your support!” — Swiatek wrote on her page on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Swiatek first topped the WTA rankings in April 2022 and stayed in first place for 75 weeks, losing the lead to Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka in September 2023. In November of the same year, she regained her status as world number one and has maintained it to this day.

Swiatek became the ninth tennis player in history to reach 100 weeks as the world number one. In eighth place is Justine Henin (117 weeks). The record holder is Steffi Graf (377).
