The 366th racket in the world, 32-year-old Portuguese tennis player Gastão Elias, issued a critical statement to the ATP management, expressing dissatisfaction with the quality of balls provided at tournaments.
“I demand that the ATP pay for the physiotherapy that I will need after playing the balls they make us play with. I’ve been on tour for years and I’ve never seen anything like this. This is simply inhumane!” – Eliash wrote on his social networks.
Let us note that the ATP management has not yet responded to Elias’ call.
Elias is far from the first tennis player to voice complaints about the quality of balls on tour this season. In particular, earlier at the Masters in Shanghai, top 10 players – Russian Daniil Medvedev and American Taylor Fritz – did the same. Note that Medvedev had previously complained about balls at other tournaments.
