Today, March 6, the WTA-1000 category tournament started in Indian Wells (USA). In the first round, Angelique Kerber from Germany and Croatian tennis player Petra Martic met on the floor. Kerber won in two sets – 6:3, 6:4.
The match lasted 1 hour 29 minutes. Martic completed three serves and converted two of four break points. Each tennis player has five double faults. Kerber was able to make one ace and convert 4 out of 11 break points.
Let us note that in three personal meetings the Croatian won twice.
Kerber will take to the court in the second round against Jelena Ostapenko from Latvia. Ostapenko missed the first round, and her first match in the tournament will be with the German tennis player.
