Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz was stung by a bee on the forehead during the quarterfinal match of the Indian Wells tournament against German Alexander Zverev, journalist Jose Morgano reports on his social network X (formerly Twitter) with reference to the tennis player’s agent.
Previously, the match between Zverev and Alcaraz was stopped due to an abnormal invasion of bees at the stadium.
The winner of this match will meet with Italian Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals of the tournament.
The Indian Wells tournament runs from March 6 to 17. The total prize fund in the men’s singles is $8.9 million. The current winner of the tournament is Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who beat Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in last year’s decisive match.
