Hurkacz reached the quarterfinals of the Masters in Rome, winning a strong-willed victory over Baez

The ninth racket of the world, Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz, reached the quarterfinals of the Masters series clay tournament in Rome (Italy).

In the fourth round match, the Pole beat the 19th racket of the world from Argentina, Sebastian Baez. The meeting ended with the score 5:7, 7:6(4), 6:4 in favor of Hurkac.

The meeting lasted 2 hours 39 minutes. Hurkach had 15 aces, two double faults and three converted break points out of four. The Argentine tennis player served out once, made three double faults and converted three break points out of six earned.

Hurkacz’s opponent in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Rome will be Tommy Paul, who confidently beat the current champion of the competition, the fourth racket of the world from Russia, Daniil Medvedev.
