The fourth racket of the world, 22-year-old Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner played his first match after winning the Australian Open 2024.
This happened at an ATP-500 tournament in Rotterdam (Netherlands). In the first round match, Sinner (1) defeated the 66th racket of the world, the representative of the Netherlands, Botik van de Zandshulp, with a score of 6:3, 6:3. The tennis players’ meeting lasted 1 hour and 27 minutes.
Sinner served four times, made two double faults and converted three break points out of eight earned. Van de Zandshulp has five aces, one double fault and three missed break points.
Sinner’s next opponent in Rotterdam will be former world number six Frenchman Gael Monfils (WC, currently ranked 70th in the ATP rankings).
